Where you have already paid for a fixed-price controller repair, you get a full refund. If the device was opened or repaired by someone else before it reached us, return postage is chargeable. Section 6 explains why.
How PlayStation 5 console repairs are priced: we don't quote one until we've had it on the bench. Diagnosis is free, we email you a price before doing any chargeable work, and if we can't fix it there's no charge and we post it back free of charge. Repairs start from £75.

How to post it in.
You post your device to us with a tracked, insured service and pay that postage; it is at your risk until it reaches us. Whatever we find, we send it back free of charge. In Shrewsbury, Telford and Wrekin, Shifnal and Priorslee we can collect instead: we collect the device from you in person, there is no postage for you to arrange or pay for, and it is in our care from the moment we pick it up until we bring it back.

We photograph every device when it arrives and again before it goes back, so there's a record on both sides.

How long does it take?
Up to 5 working days from the day it reaches us. We email you when it is on its way back.
Who pays the postage?
You post it to us and pay that leg; we pay to send it back. In Shrewsbury, Telford and Wrekin, Shifnal and Priorslee we can collect and return in person instead.
How should I pack it?
Full instructions come in your booking email: the original box or a double-walled one, about 5cm of padding all round, tape the seams. Send only the device.
Standard sticks or TMR?
Standard sticks (£30) are new potentiometer modules, the same type Sony fits. TMR sticks (£40) sense magnetically, so there is nothing to wear out. If you have had drift once, TMR is the fix that stays fixed.
What if you can't fix it?
No fix, no fee. Controller: full refund. PlayStation 5 console: nothing to pay. Either way we send it back free. The one exception is a device someone else opened first; section 6 of our terms explains.
What's the warranty?
12 months on controller repairs, 90 days on PlayStation 5 console repairs, covering the fault we fixed and the parts we fitted.
Is my data safe?
We never access, copy or keep anything on your device. Back it up and sign out before sending if you would rather be certain.
My device was opened before. Does that matter?
Tell us in the form or by reply. It changes what we expect to find, and if it turns out unrepairable because of earlier work, return postage is chargeable (section 6 of our terms).
About VS Labs
Two technicians who'd rather fix it than bin it.
We started VS Labs after years on the tools watching the same thing happen: a device develops a fault, and the owner is quietly told the only options are to bin it, upgrade, or buy another. Most of those devices didn't need replacing, they needed someone willing to actually repair them.
As working technicians we see a huge range of faults that the standard "swap it out" high-street approach simply won't resolve. That's the gap we fill. We work out of a bench in Telford, and we deliberately built this around mail-in rather than a shop counter. We appreciate not everyone can spare a weekend, travel across town, or make repeat journeys just to fit a repair into their life. You post it once; we handle the rest.
